The worst part was having to help david, as the converyor belt to the dishwasher room was borken. Any way,I got thru that..all of a sudden, I dont know if I want to go into work tomorrow...when I think about it..I feel bad for Vicky, coz I dont know who else she might have on duty? I was being a bit careful about not over doing someone elses work and not being overused..by Pukar. but i guess it was just me. Ho, today was bigday for sunny, we went and got the Dave CD, "Some Devil"..i got to listen to it once more. I had a great meeting with pete, we spoke about a business idea. He liked what we spoke and I guess we will go head and od some study. After all the business like talk, had a great time ,with colleen, shiomi and jeffery. I like the turkish kisses..it was nice. I presented shiomi with a CD and a bell. The CD had Lagan and Dil Chahatahey songs. She is one sweet japanese woman. She is a very thoughful woman for 16. She described her thoughts about the class visit to the mental hospital. Any way, I made decent dal today, not that this is news. I have just been having a terrible time with cooking offlate. Sunny came home, I shared kannans mail with her. We had dinner together, now she is more like my GF.. Todays match is between US and Sweden. I just havent been taking time as I should be. So mama called the other day and mentioned it..I didnt feel gulity but a bad feeling about it. So called home today but couldnot talk to them for long. I was at sunnys yesterday, I did nothing coinstructive today. After she was done with class we went and hung out. Sunny, Karthik, Payal and me. We went to the river city roundup in omaha convention center.Was kind of fun, we walked around, we were disappointed that there were only just two balloons for the balloon glow- what a bummer. We hung out for a while and had dinner at Indian Oven. Sunny saud she enjoyed it today. Sunny was a bit agitated thanx to the heavy traffic at the exit for 60th street. After she dropped me home, I got straight to my Case study. Payal was at home, at times all this people at home irritates me, coz I have to be even more careful so that I dont disturb him, but i guess that is my problem and off late I am coping with all my problem in more timely and efficient fashion. Today was second day at Maverick Buffet, ok this is how things went. I almost had to run to make it in time since the car didnot start ! (too bad the problem didnt evaporate !). I made it on time , punched in and got to work, item by item my job: 1- fire up the grill, all the way to 350 deg F. 2- fire up the french fries maker to high. 3- turn all the heaters to high and make a run for the dish room. 4- Get the buns, bread etc. 5- seprate out the patties and start the hamburgers. O ya, b/f that i get the paste for burgers. Any way vicky my boss is a fun person, the great stuff is I get the free lunch. I also found out that I didnt get the job at MTS..nice, the reason, some one whoes hours was better than me. I am listening to CEO of overstock.com- Patrick Byrne , a great guy. I bought it only a year and 3 months ago and I have already spend over 1200 $ on it. So this is it, if its going to be expensive I am not going to have a car. Yesterday I was at sunnys place, we almost got into a confrantation, but since she let me have it my way and I her way. things just died there..She has been very vocal about her affection during the last few days.|W|P|106382998782502589|W|P||W|P|9/16/2003 01:05:00 PM|W|P|Jijesh|W|P|First day atmy new place of work, UN Omaha Food Court. Boss Vicky or Tanya. Biggest incentive, free lunch anc unlimited pop. A really nice Nepali guy, Pukar helped me out at work. He is younger than me (I guess), I just shadowed him. Today I manned the grill at the Maverick buffet. I did the cheese grill sandwich, quintessential american hamburger and fries and the hotdogs. Now i guess I am experiencing the real desi student life, work at food court, eat free lunch etc. After we were done with the buffet, we had our lunch. The next hour from 2 pm , I joined pukar in cleaning the place. It wasnt too bad, may be cleaning teh grill was the worst part. I am sure no desi parent in right mind can surely imagin there kids doing all this. I guess in my case, its diff. Any way. In between all this work, I had the best smile and I just couldnot help thinking that I was one lucky guy. dont ask me why, I just felt like it. We just went on talking...garnished with filth and gossip. I enjoyed talking to him. sunny has been calling me more often to tell me she love me, at times I think I just dont reciprocate her love. What the hell, I dont want to think about it. Denial is the way to go now. Tanya called me and confirmed my job at the food court. Like Arun said, its going to be a good experience. I had a job (GA) position, a apt etc etc..Now things are so different. I am still looking for a J.O.B, I am not sure if Tanya in the cafeteria is going to turn me down for the job there, i hope not. Today I visited with Dr. Burgher. He has moved from the chamber of commerce to doing independet consulting. Hie new office is on the 28th floor in the woodmen towers, a simple office with a panoramic view. I guess he is a republican, he cant be anything else ( i dont mean this in any derogatory temrs). I respect Dr. Burger, one of the ppl I can call as mentors. I gave him the gift , i bought in Muscat and we talked about business in Omaha to life in Oman. Some thing intersting was his comment on the business opportunity that exist in bringing nurses to US form India..sounds,like some thing to look at and see...
